"Step on a steam train
Step out of the driving rain, maybe

Run from the darkness in the night

Singing ha, ah la la la de day"
[U2 - Running to Stand Still]

"Running To Stand Still" examines the cruel life many experience in
the Irish town of Ballymum in the city of Dublin. It describes a relationship stretched to its limits due to economic recession, discrimination and drug abuse in Ballymum. The people in the relationship attempt to seek a way out of the city. However, although they see "seven towers", the seven tallest buildings across the city skyline, there's "only one way out", in this case drug addiction. "Running To Stand Still" was motivated by U2's anger towards the politicians who did not take any responsibility to repair the problem. Bum

  • Tra il dire e il fare c'è di mezzo il mare!
Ancient Italian proverb, which literal translation is Between doing and saying lies the sea. It means something like Easier said than done.
