Première
[Surface Tension - Cobweb Theory]
Everyone knows that, in general, I don't like watching movies.
In my life I've been in a cinema only 4 times in total.
Because of this, it's quite simple for me to list all the movies I've seen in the last 12 months:
- No Man's Land. A Masterpiece. Pay attention to the dialogues.
- Hotel Rwanda. Sadly true. Really good movie, first of all for the Afro-English pronunciation.
- Memento. Incomprehensible. Tortuous. Fun.
- The Life of David Gale. Strong, maybe without cause.
- Miyazaki's top 3 (Howl's Moving Castle, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds and Spirited Away). Metaphoric.
- Jean-Pierre Jeunet's top 4 (Amelie, Delicatessen, The City of Lost Children and the mawkish, terrible A very long engagement).
- The Lord of the Rings. I'm not a fan, but I really like them.
- I Cento Passi, not too partisan.
- Roma città aperta, yes that one. I had never seen it.
- La vita è bella. Original and clever.
- The Green Mile, strong but with an awful secondary story.
- Wallace & Gromit, really nice animation.
- The Terminal, fun indeed.
- The Batman Begins, good.
- Bloody Sunday, real.
- Touching the Void, an incredible alpine story.
- Many others "minor" movies (Apollo 13 because of Milhouse. Into the West because of Sarah. Cellular, stupid but funny. My name is Tanino, absolutely stupid, but realistic indeed. Starsky&Hutch. Vajont and the show of Marco Paolini. All the Aldo&Giovanni&Giacomo movies 2 or 3 times each. Fahrenheit 9/11, The million dollar Hotel, Collateral, The last Samurai, the awful War of the Words, Garden State, I Robots, Minority Report and the three Matrix).
- Many cartoons (the superlatives Lion King and Aladin and the recent and less interesting Valiant, Chicken Little, Madagascar, Robots, and some others).
-----
The picture of today is taken behind the scenes of "Sunday", the short movie that some friends of mine and I shot last year as a project for the Video Production exam. I was the "dolly operator", as you can see :)
